At the time of its release, Too Short claimed that Gettin' It was his retirement album. If that is indeed the case, he picked the perfect moment to drop out of the hip-hop business -- as the album shows, he's already beginning to border on self-parody. There are some good moments on the album, particularly the singles "Buy You Some" and "Gettin' It," which feature Erick Sermon and Parliament/Funkadelic, respectively
