The Long Beach-based post-hardcore unit's much-anticipated follow-up to 2013's Is Survived By, the impassioned Stage Four was inspired by the death of frontman Jeremy Bolm's mother Sandy after a long fight with cancer. Recorded at Los Angeles' Seagrass Studio with producer Brad Wood (Sunny Day Real Estate, mewithoutYou, Smashing Pumpkins), the 11-track set delivers a near constant barrage of gut punches, both sonic and lyrical, but tempers the fallout with a healthy dose of empathy.
