Zach Bryan - Elisabeth
AVAILABLE FOR THE FIRST TIME ON VINYL
2xLP BLACK VINYL
A self-released second album delivered less than a year after Zach Bryan's first, Elisabeth resembles DeAnn in many ways. Chief of all is the sparse instrumentation: while Bryan has provided some slight rhythmic textures and colors on the margin, Elisabeth still feels like a solo affair, a record where he's been caught strumming away in his bedroom. That sense of intimacy extends to the songs, which are candid and not especially beholden to well-contoured melodies; it's as if Bryan believes hooks would distract from his stories and confessions. As such, listening to Elisabeth is a bit like eavesdropping on your melancholy neighbor strumming out his soul in the wee hours of the morning.
